Discovery Cube LA is a hands-on science museum with 50+ interactive STEM exhibits. It's located in Lake View Terrace/Sylmar right next to Hansen Dam, and there's a nice park next door plus vendors selling ice cream outside on weekends. They rotate special exhibits throughout the year, so repeat visits stay fresh.
A family membership pays for itself in about 3 visits.
